Head of clinic for radiooncology and medical centre for radiotherapy in the Alb Fils Kliniken Göppingen
Prof. Dr. Gerd Becker has been engaged in the field of high precision radiotherapy and radiosurgery since 1985. Together with colleges from the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg he developed various systems for it. Because of this, the condition for his own chief physician position in Göppingen had not only been the scientific education in the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg, but also the clinical and scientific experience in Bern, London and Tübingen.
In Göppingen, Prof. Becker managed the interdisciplinary Oncological Department for over 10 years. Prof. Dr. Becker was head of the board of all tumour centres and oncological departments in Baden-Württemberg. Besides the interdisciplinary oncology day to day, his scientific focus had always been the high precision radiotherapy. Therefore, he founded the RadioChirugicum with Prof. Dr. Bleif and cooperation partners in 2010.
